The Chatswood High School String Ensemble consists of 50 enthusiastic string students from year 7 through to year 12. They rehearse every Friday morning under the direction of Sylvia Marson.
Students interested in learning a string instrument are encouraged to buy an instrument or hire one from the school. Lessons are also arranged for those students requiring a teacher.
In 2015 the String Ensemble
performed at our end of term music nights,
participated in a 3 day music camp at Broken Bay Sport and Rec,
enjoyed an eleven day tour to Central Australia workshopping and performing with local schools.
The String Ensemble and Senior Strings along with some of our Woodwind, Brass and Percussion combine together for our final Music Night of the year to present works for full Orchestra.
