The Chatswood High Junior Concert Band toured to Mudgee from Tuesday October 10th to Friday October 13th.
Here are some comments from some of the students who participated in the tour.
I enjoyed the cabins, band, and the games night.
I enjoyed the people in my cabin and the responsibility we had for our cabins. We cooked food and I like cooking.
I enjoyed helping the flute player from Cudgy who asked for help with her music. We had a great time working together. All the new band members from Tempe were also fun to play with. Mr Norrish's way of conducting was fun too. I liked having the opportunity to learn new music and play the piccolo demonstration.
The games night was fun because we came second. Also because the questions were fun to think about.
Thank you to all the teachers for looking after us!

I've been able to learn some new pieces that are both enjoyable and educational. Having fun little solos in 'The Lion King' and blasting bass notes in 'Star Wars' along with listening to the overall sound of the combined bands has been an amazing experience. Also being a first year player I've learnt more about my instrument, how it works and how to play in and with a band. I've been able to strengthen my friendships with those in my school, and I've also had the opportunity to meet and get to know fellow students and trombone players from Tempe HS and briefly with those from Cudgegong. I've had loads of fun talking and laughing with my friends but also learning from these experiences. The experience of going on this Mudgee tour is one I hope not to forget. Having so much time to enjoy playing and listening to music has been great. Being around so many people who have the same passion for music, meeting and learning from old and new friends, and adding the whole camp/tour experience on top leaves me grateful for all the work put into the tour and also excited for the future as I continue on playing the wonderful thing we call music.

I enjoyed making new friends with the kids from Tempe High, Mudgee and Cudgegong Valley Primary Schools. It was really great being allowed to go to the shops and hang out in the park. I also really enjoyed the campsite. The cabins gave us a sense of responsibility and the kitchen allowed us to have our (failed) pancakes. The Jumping pillow was great fun, especially when it deflated.
I love the new music we played with the primary school kids. I really enjoyed performing for the schools, and helping the primary school musicians with their songs.
I am really grateful for the teachers and the conductors for showing us a great tour!

Thank you Chatswood High for inviting us to play with your band in Mudgee. It was an extraordinary experience learning new pieces to be able to perform to the local students. It was exciting to play in a bigger band with new people and a bigger variety of musical instruments. We are ever so grateful to receive the opportunity to come play music with you all. We loved playing with your band, and in being in Mudgee, made more enjoyable because of the beautiful town on Mudgee. It was fun to also play with children from the local primary schools to assist in helping them with their music. On behalf of Tempe High School, we thank you for the experience.
